Equativ, an independent advertising technology company, was faced with the challenge of understanding and reducing its carbon footprint in the face of growing concerns about climate change and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company wanted to take concrete climate action and limit its identified emissions. Equativ was also keen to attract top talent, reassure partners about their carbon footprint, and lead in an industry working to reduce the environmental impact of each ad campaign created. However, the company lacked the necessary tools and expertise to accurately measure and reduce its carbon emissions.
To address this challenge, Equativ partnered with Greenly, a company known for its scientific and transparent approach to assessing carbon footprints. Greenly's methodology, which covers scope 1, 2, and 3 analysis and benchmarks, was accredited by the ADEME (Agence pour la Transition Écologique). Greenly's smart platform UI, which integrated with Equativ's existing tools, and their guidance and expertise in engaging employees in the approach, were also key factors in the partnership. Additionally, Equativ partnered with BL evolution, a company dedicated to CSR consulting, to develop a solution that measures the energy footprint of programmatic campaigns delivered via its solutions and also reduces the carbon footprint of these campaigns by choosing less energy-consuming delivery methods.
