People of Verso is an independent communications consultancy agency that has been working with leading players in the retail sector on a global basis for over 15 years. The company was established in 1996 and currently has seven employees. People of Verso is committed to acting for a more responsible world and a better tomorrow. As part of this commitment, the company sought to understand and reduce its carbon footprint, particularly the portion contributed by travel. The year analyzed for this case study was 2020.
People of Verso, an independent communications consultancy agency with a unique experience in the retail sector, was keen on understanding and reducing its carbon footprint. The company wanted to evaluate the portion of travel in their carbon emissions and commit to a more sustainable ecosystem. However, to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, they first needed to measure them. This was a challenge as they lacked the necessary tools and expertise to accurately calculate their carbon footprint. They also needed to structure their environmental policy and devise an action plan to reduce their emissions in the long term.
To address this challenge, People of Verso partnered with Greenly, a company specializing in carbon assessment. Greenly helped People of Verso calculate their carbon footprint, providing them with a clear understanding of their GHG emissions. This assessment allowed People of Verso to identify the main emission items and gave them a quick overview of their emissions, which totaled 42tCO2. With this information, People of Verso was able to better structure their environmental policy and draw up an action plan for long-term emission reduction. This partnership with Greenly marked the first step in People of Verso's journey towards a Net Zero carbon footprint.
