There exists an almost bewildering choice of connectivity options for electronics engineers and application developers working on products and systems for the Internet of Things (IoT). Many communication technologies are well known such as WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and 2G/3G/4G cellular, but there are also several new emerging networking options such as Thread as an alternative for home automation applications, and Whitespace TV technologies being implemented in major cities for wider area IoT-based use cases. Depending on the application, factors such as range, data requirements, security and power demands and battery life will dictate the choice of one or some form of combination of technologies. HMS manufactures and markets industrial communication products under the following brands: Anybus, IXXAT and eWON. Anybus Solutions offers embedded network cards and stand-alone gateways which connect different industrial devices to industrial networks. IXXAT Solutions provides connectivity solutions especially for CAN, automotive and test systems while eWON Remote Solutions specialize in remote access, monitoring and management of field devices over the web.

Communicator - Protocol Converter Gateway
Communicator - Protocol Converter Gateway
The Anybus Communicator CAN series makes it possible to integrate devices with a CAN port to all popular fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks without the need for any hardware or software changes to your device. Industrial devices with CAN based protocols can be easily integrated into popular networks such as PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, Modbus-RTU, ControlNet, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT and Modbus-TCP.All data between the fieldbus and the CAN network is transferred through an internal memory buffer inside the Communicator. This method of data exchange also permits CAN devices with slow communication to be integrated into high-speed fieldbus/Ethernet networks without any restrictions. The Communicator appears as a standard I/O module on the fieldbus/Ethernet side.

eWON Netbiter EC350 - Edge Gateway
eWON Netbiter EC350 - Edge Gateway
The Netbiter EC350 communication gateway connects to field equipment via several connection methods: Serial RS-232/485, Modbus RTU, Modbus-TCP or EtherNet/IP. The gateway sends data to the cloud-based Netbiter Argos data center via Ethernet or cellular communications. On-board I/O ports on the EC350 gateway provides the option to connect sensors and additional equipment to the system.Wherever clients' field equipment is located, just connect it to a Netbiter EasyConnect gateway and they will be able to access equipment data online in regular web browser. The plug-and-play functionality makes it possible to perform large-scale installations within minutes. EasyConnect gateways connect to field equipment via several connection methods: Serial RS-232/485 Modbus RTU, Modbus-TCP or Ethernet/IP. The gateways interface with the cloud-based Netbiter Argos server via the cellular network or Ethernet. By logging in to www.netbiter. net, you can access and visualize equipment data online and get alarms via email or SMS whenever certain thresholds are reached.

TimeControl
TimeControl
TimeControl is a web-based timesheet designed to serve both Finance and Project Management. TimeControl has been designed to serve many purposes at the same time. TimeControl tracks time on a task-by-task, project-by-project basis. Yet, despite its project-based controls, it remains a financial timesheet with all the controls necessary to fulfill the stringent needs of payroll, human resources and finance. TimeControl is available both for subscription in the cloud or for purchase for an on premise installation.GroupingAll TimeControl list views are now group-able using new Options screens. Users can select visible fields and multiple levels of database grouping to make their own hierarchies of data. This helps organize data very quickly into formats that are familiar to the user and easy to navigateAdvanced FiltersTimeControl’s Filter functionality is used everywhere in TimeControl. You’ll find filters in the configuration of who can access what data, how reporting works or how Validation Rules work. While TimeControl’s filter functionality is infinitely flexible by allowing direct database controls, the introduction of Advanced Filtering allows much more complex filters to be created within the Interface itself, giving much more control to Administrators in how filters and business validation rules are created.Time-off Bank AuditingTimeControl supports multiple banks of time for each employee. Vacation, Personal Time or Sick Leave are common categories but banks of time can also be used for tracking training, premiums, or other time. New auditing functionality and auditing log reports HR and TimeControl Administrators more control to validate bank values.New Dashboards and ReportsThere are a number of new reports and dashboard views in this version including new pie charts and compliance views for the dashboard, new auditing reports and costing reports in the Report Interface. Of course the Report Designer allows you to take any default report and create your own variant if you’d rather not start from a brand new empty report when creating your own.Send Scheduled Reports by EmailTimeControl reports can now be delivered by email on a schedule. Choose from sending an email on a schedule of your choice with a PDF attachment or just sending a direct link to an encrypted server-stored file
