About The Customer
Andex Industries is a company that manufactures consumer product packaging. Its products can be found in most American households, protecting and promoting thousands of popular items, from batteries and tape to toys and toothbrushes. The company has been in operation since 1961 and works continually to improve the quality and consistency of its products, with the goal of meeting the high expectations of its diverse customer base. Andex Industries is based in Escanaba, Michigan and operates from one location. The company also has a sister company, Anthony & Co., and between the two companies, there are three separate divisions that each require different functionality from their business management software.
The Challenge
Andex Industries, a manufacturer of consumer product packaging, was looking to replace its old AS/400 platform with a flexible, integrated ERP solution that could adapt to its manufacturing model. The company had been using a mix of custom programs, legacy applications, and industry-specific software, which was not efficient. The company hired an independent consultant to help them find a new solution. They evaluated five packages and arranged demonstrations of Sage 500 ERP and Made2Manage. They needed a solution that incorporated all the functionality they needed, including planning and scheduling, credit card processing, business monitoring and alerts, core accounting, plus payroll and human resource management.
The Solution
Andex Industries chose Sage 500 ERP as their new business management solution. The software offered the feature set and functionality, the flexible SQL database platform, and the publisher reputation the company was looking for. Both Andex and its sister company, Anthony & Co., run on Sage 500 ERP. The software is configured to work differently for each of the three separate divisions, suiting both make-to-order and make-to-stock operations. Andex also utilizes the Sage 500 ERP Estimating module to accurately bid its projects, accounting for materials, labor, outside processing, as well as overhead rates and one-time charges for tooling and engineering. The SQL database platform of Sage 500 ERP makes it simple for Andex Industries to generate sophisticated queries and reports.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Revolutionizing Rodent Control
From pet- and child-safe traps, to touch-free and live-catch rodent control solutions, Victor continues to stay committed to producing superior products that meet the varying needs of today’s pest control professionals. And, with a long standing history supporting customers in the food processing, service, and retail settings, Victor knew that strict regulations were costing organizations thousands of dollars in excess overhead trying to manage their rodent-control solutions. Trap inspections in these environments are often difficult and time consuming, requiring personnel to manually check a trap’s status multiple times per day, amounting to over six hours of manual labor. Victor is looking for an innovative way to increase operational efficiencies with the use of technology.
