The Challenge
Clal, a leading insurance company in Israel, was facing stiff competition from regional InsurTech companies. The regulatory landscape was also becoming increasingly aggressive, impacting large companies with complex internal-external development needs. The company needed to transition from a bottleneck to a booster and turn a regulatory liability into a capability advantage. However, they lacked a comprehensive API management platform that could help them achieve this. The company also faced challenges with API bottlenecks and duplicates, rising costs, and the need for digital transformation.
The Solution
Clal partnered with Software AG to implement a comprehensive API management platform. The project was a success, helping Clal eliminate duplicates among 25 percent of existing APIs, cut internal-external development times from months to weeks, and produce accruing financial savings from the first day. With the help of Software AG’s Professional Services (PS) and Global Education Services (GES), Clal finished the project ahead of schedule—in half the time it expected. The solution included webMethods Integration Server, webMethods Integration Server Adapters, webMethods Insight, webMethods BPMS, ApplinX, Universal Messaging, webMethods API Gateway, and webMethods API Portal.
