Chais Monnet is a luxury hotel located on a two-hectare property in the heart of historic vineyards. The hotel features 92 rooms and suites, plus 14 luxury apartments. Additional amenities include a restaurant, a seminar room, a spa, and a swimming pool. The hotel is housed in a listed historic building, adding to its charm and appeal. Chais Monnet caters to an international clientele, who expect high-end equipment and the ability to control comfort parameters from their rooms. The hotel is committed to providing a comfortable and luxurious experience for its guests, while also prioritizing energy efficiency and sustainability.
The Challenge
Chais Monnet, a new hotel located in the heart of historic vineyards, faced several challenges in developing a Building Management System (BMS) and an energy-consumption monitoring system. The hotel, which boasts 92 rooms, 14 apartments, a restaurant, a seminar room, a spa, and a swimming pool, required a system that was not only intuitive and user-friendly but also capable of communicating with all technical batches including domestic hot water, electricity, heating, lighting, and air handling unit. The challenge was further complicated by the need to ensure quality aesthetics of the equipment and the finishing of the wiring and thermostats, to comply with the requirements of a listed historic building. Additionally, the hotel wanted to provide its international clientele with the ability to control comfort parameters from their rooms.
The Solution
The solution to Chais Monnet's challenges came in the form of EcoStruxure Building Operation and connected products. These products distribute and optimize energy and facility operational performance, leading to energy savings and efficiency. Custom controllers were installed for terminal applications such as fan coils, systems with variable air flow, chilled ceilings, and air conditioners. These controllers were designed to provide optimal efficiency and comfort. Intelligent thermostats were also installed to control the HVAC system and room management. Despite their advanced capabilities, these thermostats maintained simplicity and user-friendliness, allowing guests to easily control the comfort parameters from their rooms.
