The company has a history of more than 130 years of UV research and technology experience. It has nine branch locations and was previously using SNAP process manufacturing software.
The Challenge
Zeller + Gmelin Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of UV high-quality specialty printing inks for the graphics industry, had outgrown its SNAP process manufacturing software and was looking for a replacement solution that was robust, flexible and would allow a smooth changeover. In addition, Zeller + Gmelin needed a way to provide remote access from its nine branch locations to link the entire enterprise for a more efficient operation.
The Solution
Zeller + Gmelin Corporation chose Datacor’s Chempax software to replace SNAP. Chempax provided all the features currently used in SNAP as well as many others that were needed. Chempax was easy to use, gave the company access to critical business information and linked its nine branches. Field Device Asset Management For Chemical Company in China
Chinese chemical subsidiary of multinational corporation serves customers throughout the world. Sales offices and research and technology centers are strategically located to provide rapid response to customer requests. Just two workers were assigned to maintain thousands of intelligent instruments in three production units, so they could do little more than react to device issues as they appeared. This costly maintenance method inevitably led to unexpected downtime when a critical instrument failed. Plant management recognized the need to change from reactive to predictive maintenance for all assets, including instruments and control valves, but help was needed in implementing such a technology-based initiative.
