About The Customer
KT&G, originally 'Korea Tobacco & Ginseng Corporation', is the leading tobacco manufacturer in South Korea. Privatized in 2002, KT&G has since expanded its businesses, helping it to diversify and grow into a globally competitive company. KT&G has heavily invested in R&D and marketing to increase domestic market share and establish a steady influx of revenue from foreign markets. Despite facing stiff competition from foreign cigarette manufacturers producing locally in Korea, KT&G has dominated the domestic market with over 70% market share thanks to frequent release of new and innovative brands. KT&G also exports its products to CIS, the Middle East, Central Asia, China, Russia and Southeast Asia spearheading its campaign with its flagship cigarette brand, 'Esse'.
The Challenge
KT&G, a leading tobacco manufacturer in South Korea, was facing challenges in managing and sharing product data across its different offices. The company's brand planning team is based in Seoul, the R&D team and production factory are in Daejeon, and the packaging facility is in Chonan. The development of new products involved many steps, each requiring coordination between these different locations and management of massive amounts of information and product data. Without an effective data management system, managing and sharing the right data was a serious challenge. The company needed to implement improvements to its development process in order to effectively manage product information and its flow from one location to another.
The Solution
KT&G adopted ENOVIA from Dassault Systèmes to archive, manage and share important business and technical information as well as to enhance the efficiency of its internal communications. With ENOVIA, KT&G can effectively manage all data from product concept to design blueprint, enabling every employee whether in the main office or at another location to fully access and use this data and seamlessly communicate with one another. Managing all product information with ENOVIA has enabled KT&G to reduce time-to-market of new as well as renewed products. ENOVIA also resolved the issue of confidentiality. Its previous communication system did not guarantee a secure transfer of information from one employee to another, but with ENOVIA, the company now securely shares critical business information and data more easily and freely.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Revolutionizing Rodent Control
From pet- and child-safe traps, to touch-free and live-catch rodent control solutions, Victor continues to stay committed to producing superior products that meet the varying needs of today’s pest control professionals. And, with a long standing history supporting customers in the food processing, service, and retail settings, Victor knew that strict regulations were costing organizations thousands of dollars in excess overhead trying to manage their rodent-control solutions. Trap inspections in these environments are often difficult and time consuming, requiring personnel to manually check a trap’s status multiple times per day, amounting to over six hours of manual labor. Victor is looking for an innovative way to increase operational efficiencies with the use of technology.
