About The Customer
The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is a government organization based in Vail, Colorado. Founded in 1996, the District was formed after the consolidation of Upper Eagle Valley Consolidated Sanitation District and the Vail Valley Consolidated Water District. The District oversees public water and wastewater treatment systems across 54,000 acres in the eastern part of Colorado’s Eagle County. It owns, operates, and maintains the public water system serving the town of Vail and also operates and maintains the public water system that serves the metropolitan districts of Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, Beaver Creek, Berry Creek, Cordillera, Edwards, and Avon. The District's Lab Department, with a staff of only four, serves a customer base of 10,000.
The Challenge
The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District, a government organization based in Vail, Colorado, was struggling with inefficient paper-based processes. The District oversees public water and wastewater treatment systems across 54,000 acres in the eastern part of Colorado’s Eagle County, serving a customer base of 10,000 with a staff of only four in the Lab Department. The manual data entry, hand-written forms, and traditional phone and email communication were not only time-consuming but also expensive, consuming resources equivalent to a full-time employee annually. The District archived its paper documents in a remote warehouse, which was 18 miles away, necessitating a 30-minute drive each way. Locating specific documents in the warehouse was a daunting task, often requiring staff to sift through 10 years' worth of boxed-up paper. The manual nature of these processes led to delays, user errors, and quality assurance risks that the organization could no longer tolerate.
The Solution
The District turned to Nintex Workflow and Nintex Forms to streamline their processes and improve data retrieval. The Nintex platform enabled the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District to reduce manual processes, thereby reducing the time and resources spent on these tasks. The platform also improved the speed and efficiency of workflow creation, allowing the District to easily repurpose workflows as needed. The use of digital forms significantly reduced the reliance on paper forms, leading to an 80% reduction in paper usage. The solution also eliminated the need for the remote physical warehouse, as all data could now be digitally archived and easily retrieved when needed. This not only saved the time spent on traveling to and from the warehouse but also made the process of locating specific documents much more efficient and less error-prone.

The Netherlands are well-known for their inland waterways, canals, sluices and of course port activities.
