About The Customer
Ecenarro S. Coop is a Spanish manufacturer that focuses on the production and supply of fasteners and special parts for the automotive industry. The company uses cold stamping technology to achieve the greatest possible added value for its range of products. Established in 1943 as a supplier of fasteners, Ecenarro expanded its production capacity and product range in 1967 when it introduced cold stamping technology. In 1982, the company, based in Bergara in Gipuzkoa Province, Spain, became a co-operative company and in 2002, it merged with the MCC group as part of its Mondragón division. More than 50 per cent of Ecenarro's production is for export.
The Challenge
Ecenarro, a Spanish manufacturer specializing in the production and supply of fasteners and special parts for the automotive industry, was struggling with its legacy business intelligence system. The data to be analyzed was exported from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to Excel spreadsheets and then processed manually to obtain the required results. This process was time-consuming and inefficient, often resulting in the data being outdated by the time it was ready for analysis. The company needed a solution that could provide immediate access to key performance indicators and other critical business data.
The Solution
Ecenarro decided to switch to QlikView, a business intelligence tool, to improve its data analysis capabilities. The solution was chosen for its speed, ease of installation, and user-friendly interface. The implementation of QlikView was carried out in stages, starting with the commercial and purchasing unit, followed by the production and quality area, and finally the storage department. With QlikView, Ecenarro was able to analyze key performance indicators immediately, monitor sales development, measure profitability, produce forecasts, and monitor deliveries and quantities involved. The company plans to extend the solution to other departments, including the technical and financial departments, and adopt QlikView Publisher for programming document loading.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).

Monitoring of Pressure Pumps in Automotive Industry
A large German/American producer of auto parts uses high-pressure pumps to deburr machined parts as a part of its production and quality check process. They decided to monitor these pumps to make sure they work properly and that they can see any indications leading to a potential failure before it affects their process.
