About The Customer
Firehouse Subs is a fast-casual restaurant chain founded by brothers and former firefighters, Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen. The brand is built on decades of fire and police service, high-quality food, and a commitment to saving lives through the creation of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. In 2014, Firehouse Subs debuted a new low-calorie menu, Under 500 Calories, and consistently ranks number one among fast-casual brands in the categories of food quality, friendly service, and taste and flavor. In 2015, it was ranked number one consumer choice for welcoming and comfortable atmosphere by Technomic’s 2015 Chain Restaurant Consumers’ Choice Awards, and the brand produced the second-fastest growth in U.S. franchise units as ranked by Nation’s Restaurant News.
The Challenge
Firehouse Subs, a fast-casual restaurant chain, was facing challenges with its existing signing process for franchise agreements and other related documents. The process was manual, costly, and prone to errors. It involved printing franchise agreements, tabbing where each signatory was to sign, and shipping the documents to the recipient. The franchise owners would then call the recipients to advise them to only sign the receipt page and not the franchise agreement until the seven-day disclosure period had passed. This process required extensive follow-up to comply with FTC requirements and was time-consuming and expensive, largely due to shipping requirements.
The Solution
Firehouse Subs implemented Nintex AssureSign eSignature software to streamline their document authorization process. The software offered advanced features such as workflow templates, Send To Nintex AssureSign application, and a delayed signing feature to accommodate the FTC mandatory disclosure period prior to signing a franchise agreement. Documents are imported into Send To Nintex AssureSign, templates are applied, and sent to the recipients, who are only able to sign the receipt immediately. They are unable to access the rest of the document until the specified number of days has passed. At that time, they are notified that they may access the document and complete signing. The signed document automatically continues along the workflow through Firehouse Subs’ internal signers until complete. Once completed, all parties require a copy of the document.

HEINEKEN Uses the Cloud to Reach 10.5 Million Consumers
For 2012 campaign, the Bond promotion, it planned to launch the campaign at the same time everywhere on the planet. That created unprecedented challenges for HEINEKEN—nowhere more so than in its technology operation. The primary digital content for the campaign was a 100-megabyte movie that had to play flawlessly for millions of viewers worldwide. After all, Bond never fails. No one was going to tolerate a technology failure that might bruise his brand.Previously, HEINEKEN had supported digital media at its outsourced datacenter. But that datacenter lacked the computing resources HEINEKEN needed, and building them—especially to support peak traffic that would total millions of simultaneous hits—would have been both time-consuming and expensive. Nor would it have provided the geographic reach that HEINEKEN needed to minimize latency worldwide.
