About The Customer
FrontPoint Security is a leading provider of self-installed wireless home security systems in North America. Based in McLean, Virginia, the company is one of the fastest-growing alarm companies in the region. FrontPoint Security prides itself on delivering a wireless alarm system that is safer, smarter, and simpler than traditional security systems. The company's success is driven by customer satisfaction, and its relentless customer-focus has earned it a reputation as one of the highest-rated security companies in the industry. As a result of its customer-focused approach, FrontPoint's growth trajectory has been strong, outpacing the capabilities of its existing Business Intelligence (BI) solution.
The Challenge
FrontPoint Security, a leading provider of self-installed wireless home security systems in North America, was experiencing rapid growth. This growth trajectory was outpacing the capabilities of its existing Business Intelligence (BI) solution, which was unable to provide employees with the timely insights they required. This resulted in backlogging, inefficient reporting processes, and an inability to make timely decisions. The company needed a solution that could provide insights on how customers were using their systems, customer satisfaction, and the effectiveness of the company’s marketing practices. At a higher level, the management team needed answers from its data that spanned across multiple business systems so that decisions could be made allowing the business to keep up with the high growth environment.
The Solution
FrontPoint Security turned to Ubora BI, LLC, a provider of BI solutions, who delivered QlikView’s Business Discovery platform. This solution bridges the gap between traditional BI solutions and standalone office productivity applications, empowering users to forge new paths and make new discoveries. FrontPoint initially deployed QlikView and released its first production application in less than four weeks. The initial release provided immediate value with insight into key performance areas including customer satisfaction, sales, marketing, and call center operations. Once the solution was deployed, all teams began to realize the benefits. FrontPoint’s management team can now monitor key performance indicators such as customer satisfaction, staffing and capacity metrics, and key financial indicators, and is equipped with the actionable insight required to make changes quickly and efficiently.

Improving Production Line Efficiency with Ethernet Micro RTU Controller
Moxa was asked to provide a connectivity solution for one of the world's leading cosmetics companies. This multinational corporation, with retail presence in 130 countries, 23 global braches, and over 66,000 employees, sought to improve the efficiency of their production process by migrating from manual monitoring to an automatic productivity monitoring system. The production line was being monitored by ABB Real-TPI, a factory information system that offers data collection and analysis to improve plant efficiency. Due to software limitations, the customer needed an OPC server and a corresponding I/O solution to collect data from additional sensor devices for the Real-TPI system. The goal is to enable the factory information system to more thoroughly collect data from every corner of the production line. This will improve its ability to measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and translate into increased production efficiencies. System Requirements • Instant status updates while still consuming minimal bandwidth to relieve strain on limited factory networks • Interoperable with ABB Real-TPI • Small form factor appropriate for deployment where space is scarce • Remote software management and configuration to simplify operations
