About The Customer
INNODESIGN is one of the top ten design firms in the world with over 30 years of design consulting experience. The company was founded 30 years ago in California’s Silicon Valley by Youngse Kim. The company's products range from small hand-held products to electric bicycles and cars. The company is headquartered in Pankyo, Kyungi-do, South Korea and has a global presence with an office in Palo Alto, California, US and two in Seoul and Pankyo in Korea. On the 30th anniversary of INNODESIGN, Youngse Kim announced the creation of the South Korea’s first Design Accelerator Lab (DXL-Lab).
The Challenge
INNODESIGN, a top ten design firm in the world, was facing a challenge in accelerating its creation of innovative products to satisfy rapidly changing consumer tastes. The company needed to improve the sharing of design ideas and streamline its design processes. The company's CEO, Youngse Kim, believed that new ideas and speedy design processes were the most important factors that contribute to a product’s victory or failure in any market. He wanted to provide Korean startups with a place they could go to obtain design expertise and financial assistance, if needed, to get their projects off the ground when starting their own businesses.
The Solution
INNODESIGN adopted Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud and its HT body industry solution experience to support an open collaborative approach to design. The company partnered with Dassault Systèmes to equip the lab with the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform and its HT body industry solution experience on the cloud that includes CATIA design tools. The lab’s motto is ‘Design Together’ and the best way to achieve this is with a powerful platform that can support all designers who want to work together to collectively create exciting concepts. The first product designed in the DXL-Lab using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the cloud is an electric bicycle. The company joined forces with Dong-hyun Park, CEO of Hycore, a startup that designs and manufactures the “Hycore Bicycle”, an innovative electric bicycle wheel, to design a new type of bicycle.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Remote Temperature Monitoring of Perishable Goods Saves Money
RMONI was facing temperature monitoring challenges in a cold chain business. A cold chain must be established and maintained to ensure goods have been properly refrigerated during every step of the process, making temperature monitoring a critical business function. Manual registration practice can be very costly, labor intensive and prone to mistakes.
