Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest automotive manufacturing business, built around two iconic British car brands: Land Rover, the world’s leading manufacturer of premium all-wheel drive vehicles and Jaguar, one of the world’s premier luxury sports saloon and sports car marques.
The Challenge
After its spin-off from Ford Motor Company in 2008, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) needed a secure solution for global supplier connectivity and collaboration, similar in scope to its legacy company. Updating legacy systems was also necessary, but replacing existing infrastructure was time consuming and cost prohibitive. As a result, JLR faced several technology and flexibility challenges in providing its 3,000 global suppliers with secure access to critical business information. The need to focus on core business processes led JLR to Covisint.
The Solution
JLR implemented the Covisint B2B Cloud Platform as a means for secure communication and collaboration between the company and its suppliers. The Covisint B2B Cloud platform permitted rapid implementation and reduced the cost of maintaining a supplier-facing collaboration solution. This allowed JLR to improve and streamline business processes with supplier partners globally. Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic.
