They have laid out 10 commitments that define who they are and what they stand for.
Mama Loves Ya, an agency dedicated to developing the careers of emerging artists in the electronic music industry, was faced with the challenge of understanding and reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Despite their commitment to respect the environment, they lacked the knowledge and tools to identify their key emission sectors and structure an effective environmental policy. Their goal was to find a simple solution to carry out their GHG assessment and commit to reducing their emissions. The company's carbon footprint included not only direct energy-related emissions but also indirect emissions caused by service providers and services used by the company. One significant source of these indirect emissions was the production of the label’s vinyls.
Mama Loves Ya partnered with Greenly, a company recognized for its simple and intuitive carbon measurement solution. Greenly conducted a comprehensive GHG assessment for Mama Loves Ya, providing a clear picture of the company's key problem areas. The assessment took into account both direct and indirect emissions, including those from the production of the label’s vinyls. Following the assessment, Greenly helped Mama Loves Ya to structure a strong environmental policy aimed at substantially reducing emissions. They also assisted the company in choosing a reliable, certified offset program to compensate for twice their carbon footprint, thereby aiming for a positive environmental impact. An initial action plan was defined, inspiring the first 10 commitments made by Mama Loves Ya. The plan involves the team and partners in reaching the company's 2022 development and growth objectives while controlling emissions as much as possible.
