About The Customer
EDHEC is a prestigious international business school founded in 1906. It operates five campuses in Lille, Nice, London, Paris, and Singapore, offering programs in business, entrepreneurship, management, and innovation. The school's teaching philosophy is centered around 'learning by doing,' inspired by its award-winning research activities. EDHEC is committed to providing modern education for the digital age, with a strong emphasis on practical relevance. The school's faculty and students actively engage in various activities, including downloads, subscriptions, and other interactions with the ARIS Cloud for Faculties offering.
The Challenge
EDHEC, a leading international business school, faced a significant challenge in teaching Business Process Management (BPM) to its students. The school's professor of Information Systems, Mohamed-Hédi Charki, initially attempted to expose students to a wide variety of BPM tools. However, this approach proved to be overwhelming for students, who struggled to gain in-depth knowledge of any specific tool. The wide range of quality and access among the tools further complicated the learning process. Grading became a frustrating task as students attempted to use multiple tools to analyze the same process. The school needed a solution that would simplify the learning process, provide a consistent and high-quality tool for students, and enable effective teaching of BPM.
The Solution
EDHEC found its solution in Software AG's ARIS Cloud for Faculties, a part of the University Relations Program. This cloud-based education package offered a market-leading BPM tool, ARIS, along with free licenses and teaching materials. The cloud-based nature of the tool eliminated the need for installation and provided a user-friendly interface. The school began setting up ARIS for students and faculty, overcoming initial technical challenges with the help of Software AG. The company provided individual access vouchers to accommodate the diverse IT requirements of the large user base, which included over 750 students and 5 faculties. With ARIS, the faculty could conduct live software demonstrations in the classroom, and students could collaborate easily. The tool was integrated into the Management Information Systems curriculum, where students used it to analyze real business case studies.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
