About The Customer
Schweppes Australia, a renowned name in the nonalcoholic beverage industry, has been a favorite among Australians for over 150 years. The company operates a large distribution center in Archerfield, Queensland, which serves a vast employee and customer base. Schweppes Australia is committed to delivering high-quality beverages and ensuring efficient distribution to meet the demands of its customers. The company sought to address operational challenges in its distribution center to maintain its reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.
The Challenge
Schweppes Australia’s Archerfield, Queensland, distribution center faced significant challenges with its paper-based picking system. The system led to confusion among workers due to similar product descriptions, resulting in delivery errors. Additionally, the presence of multiple SKUs and pallets at each location made tracking a daunting task. The need for improved picking efficiency, distribution accuracy, and real-time visibility into the workplace was paramount. The manual paper-based system required an upgrade to a robust, automated, voice-enabled platform that could enhance worker safety and productivity.
The Solution
Honeywell provided Schweppes with the Vocollect Voice, an innovative voice-enabled workflow and data collection solution that seamlessly integrates with Schweppes’ ERP system (SAP). The Talkman A500 Mobile Computing Devices, wirelessly connected to Bluetooth-enabled display devices, facilitated voice-based workflows, enhancing worker mobility and ease of viewing long lists and large displays. Vocollect VoiceCatalyst provided smart connectivity to devices and servers, while Vocollect RapidStart enabled quick and consistent onboarding for new operators. The Vocollect VoiceConsole allowed management to monitor employee activities in real-time, providing comprehensive productivity reports. The Vocollect SRX2 wireless headset, leveraging Vocollect SoundSense voice recognition technology, offered unmatched accuracy and quick pairing with Vocollect TouchConnect, reducing shift start-up time. The solution allowed workers to have their hands free, enhancing safety and efficiency.

HEINEKEN Uses the Cloud to Reach 10.5 Million Consumers
For 2012 campaign, the Bond promotion, it planned to launch the campaign at the same time everywhere on the planet. That created unprecedented challenges for HEINEKEN—nowhere more so than in its technology operation. The primary digital content for the campaign was a 100-megabyte movie that had to play flawlessly for millions of viewers worldwide. After all, Bond never fails. No one was going to tolerate a technology failure that might bruise his brand.Previously, HEINEKEN had supported digital media at its outsourced datacenter. But that datacenter lacked the computing resources HEINEKEN needed, and building them—especially to support peak traffic that would total millions of simultaneous hits—would have been both time-consuming and expensive. Nor would it have provided the geographic reach that HEINEKEN needed to minimize latency worldwide.
