Tesla Transformers India Ltd is a global manufacturer and distributor of electrical transformers, established in 1973. The company produces, installs, supplies, tests, and distributes power and distribution transformers to major state electricity boards and central government-run power plants in India and across Asia. With ISO-9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 18001:2018 certifications, Tesla operates with $50 million in annual revenue and approximately 250 employees. The company comprises three entities focusing on power transformer manufacturing, distribution, and power subassembly contracting. Tesla aims to double its revenues in the next two years and needed to replace its legacy ERP system to meet its future needs and goals.
The Challenge
Tesla Transformers India Ltd faced multiple operational challenges as it aimed to transform into a 21st-century global organization. The company lacked granular visibility into its production and delivery scheduling, struggled with functional departments operating in data and communication siloes, and needed better data into its production timing and sequencing. Management sought a consolidated resource utilization process to have real-time intelligence about capacity availability versus commitments. Additionally, Tesla needed better tracking of customer-specific requirements and inspection criteria to avoid delays in inspection and dispatching the final product.
The Solution
Tesla Transformers India Ltd selected OptiProERP, an end-to-end manufacturing ERP solution embedded into the SAP Business One platform, to address its operational challenges. OptiProERP provided complete control and visibility into processes from start to finish, centralizing information and coordinating business activities from one system.
