About The Customer
Groupe Pasteur Mutualité (GPM) is a federation of mutual insurance companies governed by the Mutual Insurance Code and includes more than 100 county, national or professional mutual insurance companies. The group has 250 participants and its predominant activity is the supplemental and contingency insurance sector. Its goal is to cover all the insurance risks of all health professionals. In 2007, it had €140 million revenue with 11% growth over the previous year. Today, the goal of Groupe Pasteur Mutualité is to strengthen its position as the leading mutual insurance for the medical profession and offer its subscribers an even more complete line of contracts, protecting them against all life’s risks on the personal, family and professional levels.
The Challenge
Groupe Pasteur Mutualité was facing challenges due to the existence of several databases and multiple demands on the IT department. The lack of internal organization and unstructured information linked to multiple disparate databases greatly increased the load on the IT department, which was stressed by the multiple requests. Requests for statistics, specific studies or technical management reports clogged up the IT department. Each query had its request and response: nothing was unified. Since the frequency of requests submitted to the IT department by the business staff had become a daily occurrence, it had become urgent to implement a solution enabling quick access to all of the databases.
The Solution
To address the problem, a request for bids was sent to Cognos, Business Objects and QlikTech, which had been recommended by Astek Assurances. The Groupe Pasteur Mutualité team responsible for the project was immediately won over by QlikView; ease of use, speed of access to the data, daily update of the data, accessibility and sharing of databases – all the ingredients were combined in a single product. Once confirmed, the project was completed in six months. Today 25 people from among all the business entities use QlikView, with specific applications for each department. QlikView makes it possible to make predefined management reports available to everyone and makes the implementation of one-time studies. With QlikView, users have easy and direct access to the various databases for performing the desired analyses.
