关于客户
Mainfreight is a global logistics provider that offers international end-to-end freight service. The company has 239 branches across 21 countries and employs 7,000 team members. Mainfreight has a 100-year vision and is known for thinking big. The company started as a local trucking company in New Zealand and has grown into a global logistics giant with warehouses around the world. Mainfreight's ambitious growth strategy means they don’t just think five or 10 years down the road. The company takes pride in their ambitious corporate culture, which powers their dedication to be not only a leader in their industry, but also play an important role in the growth of New Zealand. Mainfreight has invested 51.1 million dollars in IT.
挑战
Mainfreight, a global logistics giant based in New Zealand, needed a state-of-the-art data center that would meet their current needs and support their growing global expansion. The challenge was to complete the project in three months, from design to implementation. The company's systems have grown as the company has grown, shifting from the use of manual systems into automated systems. This has opened up opportunities for the use of Electronic Data Interchange to automate the way customers transact with them and vice versa. To address organic growth, and to accommodate where the business is moving with the demands on data storage and analytics, Mainfreight constructed a new data center in New Zealand which houses all the necessary infrastructure to provide the platform to deliver those exact types of services.
解决方案
Schneider Electric modernized Mainfreight’s existing data center infrastructure in Hamilton, New Zealand. In less than 12 weeks, Schneider deployed a modular, scalable EcoStruxure data center with the performance Mainfreight needs to run their business well into their future. The solution included connected products like Symmetra UPS, InRow cooling, NetShelter SX, and PDUs (including power meters, breakers, and chillers). Schneider Electric delivered a modern, expandable solution for their global operations. The EcoStruxure software provides Mainfreight with the necessary visibility to maintain the performance and the efficiency of their infrastructure. The software is particularly beneficial on the company’s operations, helping them monitor, manage and maintain data centers that are remote to where IT teams are based.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Remote Temperature Monitoring of Perishable Goods Saves Money
RMONI was facing temperature monitoring challenges in a cold chain business. A cold chain must be established and maintained to ensure goods have been properly refrigerated during every step of the process, making temperature monitoring a critical business function. Manual registration practice can be very costly, labor intensive and prone to mistakes.

Remote Wellhead Monitoring
Each wellhead was equipped with various sensors and meters that needed to be monitored and controlled from a central HMI, often miles away from the assets in the field. Redundant solar and wind generators were installed at each wellhead to support the electrical needs of the pumpstations, temperature meters, cameras, and cellular modules. In addition to asset management and remote control capabilities, data logging for remote surveillance and alarm notifications was a key demand from the customer. Terra Ferma’s solution needed to be power efficient, reliable, and capable of supporting high-bandwidth data-feeds. They needed a multi-link cellular connection to a central server that sustained reliable and redundant monitoring and control of flow meters, temperature sensors, power supply, and event-logging; including video and image files. This open-standard network needed to interface with the existing SCADA and proprietary network management software.
