About The Customer
Colony Tire is a premier auto care and tire company that was founded in 1976 in Rodanthe, NC. The company started with just two gasoline pumps and over the years, it expanded its operations by purchasing two small oil companies in Edenton and Roper, NC, and becoming a Farm Bureau tire dealer. Today, Colony Tire is a multi-million dollar business and one of the leading tire distributors and automotive service providers in North America. The company operates over 25 locations and serves vehicle owners throughout NC and VA.
The Challenge
Colony Tire, a leading tire distributor and automotive service provider in North America, was facing a significant challenge in managing logistics across its over 25 locations. The company's executive vice president, Andrew Bergeron, highlighted the need for a reliable partner that could provide a robust solution for their logistics management. The company was looking for a solution that not only had a strong track record of satisfied customers but also had experienced engineers and the ability to provide 24/7 support. The company's existing POS system provider, ASA Tire Systems, had a partner relationship with Royal 4, which was a critical factor in their decision-making process. However, the company needed more than just a partner relationship; they needed a comprehensive solution to their logistics challenges.
The Solution
After a thorough evaluation of different options, Colony Tire decided to implement Royal 4’s WISE Tire Software / Warehouse Management System (WMS) across its three distribution centers. The WISE WMS Tire Software was chosen for its proven track record, experienced engineering team, and the ability to provide round-the-clock support. The software is designed to manage logistics for multiple locations, making it an ideal solution for Colony Tire's widespread operations. The WMS provides a Radio Frequency (RF) solution for inventory receiving, put-away, cross-docking, product location, picking, shipping, tire aging alerts, NAFTA compliance, outbound documentation, and more, offering a comprehensive solution to Colony Tire's logistics challenges.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
