About The Customer
Charter Communications is a leading telecommunications and media services company that owns the Spectrum brand. The company is based in Stamford, Connecticut, and operates in the communications industry. Charter Communications is a large-scale enterprise with a significant presence in the market. The company was looking to launch new products in a highly saturated mobile market and needed a solution that could deliver the necessary data within a tight timeframe of nine months.
The Challenge
Charter Communications, the owner of the Spectrum brand of telecommunications and media services, was facing a significant challenge. In a saturated mobile market, the company wanted to launch new products within a nine-month timeframe. However, its existing technology infrastructure was not capable of delivering the necessary data within this period. The company needed a solution that could rapidly onboard and standardize 200Tb of data from more than 60 sources, and prepare and publish this data to various analytical and production platforms.
The Solution
To address this challenge, Charter Communications planned to create a managed data lake. The company chose Qlik Catalog as the solution to this problem. Qlik Catalog is a data management platform that could handle the large volume of data from various sources that the company needed to process. The platform was able to rapidly onboard and standardize the 200Tb of data from more than 60 sources. Furthermore, it was able to prepare and publish this data to many analytical and production platforms, making the data easily accessible for the company's needs.
