FOSIS is a public service of the Chilean government that was created in the late 1990s. Its mission is to contribute to overcoming poverty and social vulnerability in the country with strategies that strengthen social cohesion, skills, and capacities of individuals, families, and communities. The institution is composed of 16 regional directorates and 20 provincial offices. It maintains a direct relationship with the Presidency of the Republic through the Ministry of Social Development and Family. FOSIS has been using the AuraQuantic platform for over 14 years to automate its internal processes.
The Solidarity and Social Investment Fund (FOSIS), a service of the Chilean Government, was faced with the challenge of standardizing its administrative processes to comply with the new regulatory framework established by the Law of Digital Transformation of the State (LTDE). The LTDE focuses on updating administrative procedures and document management in public administration through digital transformation. It also mandates that all communication related to administrative procedures between different public bodies must be carried out electronically. FOSIS had been using the AuraQuantic platform for over 14 years to automate different internal processes. However, with the introduction of the new LTDE framework, the institution needed to launch an ambitious project to align with the new regulations.
To meet the requirements of the LTDE, FOSIS decided to further leverage the AuraQuantic platform. The platform was used to develop a remittance system for Budgeting, which is now used throughout the entire organization. Additionally, a new version of its document management system was created. To empower autonomous process development, a team from FOSIS completed the AuraQuantic Training School’s e-learning courses. This allowed the team to learn at their own pace and apply the concepts learned from day one, resulting in significant cost savings for the institution and expedited process implementation. Furthermore, FOSIS plans to automate the FOSIS Family Program’s Technical Assistance process by 2023 and continue process automation with more projects being incorporated in the coming months.
