About The Customer
Microland is a highly regarded provider of ITSM services. The company was formed 31 years ago and is headquartered in Bengaluru. Microland has a workforce of 4,500 in offices across Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East, and North America. The company's 'Making Digital Happen' philosophy supports customers adopting NextGen digital infrastructures and its efficient management of critical IT infrastructures has forged many long-term customer relationships with prestigious enterprises across multiple market sectors.
The Challenge
Microland, a provider of ITSM services, was looking for a way to differentiate itself in the crowded ITSM market. The company wanted to provide its customers with transparency into their ITSM landscapes and deliver a platform that was powerful but easy to use. Many of Microland's customers reported that despite having all the reporting tools they could think of, they still lacked visibility into their ITSM analytics. They were running projects for six months but still had no useful KPIs and did not know what was happening with their ITSM.
The Solution
Microland incorporated Qlik Sense as the visualization layer for its SmartInsights platform of pre-built dashboards and KPIs. The platform features interlinked dashboards that give a panoramic view of data, allowing users to click on a specific data point and drill down by filtering the entire dashboard on that point. Qlik’s associative engine brings all relevant data together for detailed analysis, providing comprehensive visualization. The platform is designed to be as intuitive as possible, making it accessible to non-power users.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
