The Challenge
Tire’s Warehouse Incorporated, a leading tire wholesaler in California, was facing significant challenges with its inventory control, warehouse performance levels, and space utilization across multiple locations. The company, which boasts over 19,000 SKUs and a growing number of locations, was struggling to manage the increasing transaction volume with their existing system. The situation was further complicated by the need to maintain high levels of customer service, a cornerstone of the company's philosophy. Garrett Webb, the Logistics Manager, recognized that the existing system was inadequate for the company's growing needs and that the only way to continue delivering exceptional service was through the effective use of technology. The challenge was to find a system that could streamline operations, improve inventory accuracy, and integrate smoothly with their existing Navision ERP system.
The Solution
After evaluating several systems and consulting with other tire dealers, Tire’s Warehouse Incorporated decided to implement the WISE Tire Warehouse Manager System across all their locations. The WISE system was configured to align with the unique business rules of Tire’s Warehouse. All levels of end-users, from Order Management to Warehouse Operators, were trained on the new system. The implementation also involved coordinating pre-go-live inventory and bin location assignment for nearly 600,000 square feet of warehouse space across nine locations. Additionally, the implementation included the setup of wireless access points, RF Readers, and other peripherals to support day-to-day WMS operations. The WISE system was integrated with the company's existing Navision ERP system, with Royal 4 working closely with the Tire’s Warehouse IT team to ensure a smooth transition.

For Fox and his team, these requirements meant turning to the cloud instead of an on-premises datacenter. “My first thought was to go directly to the cloud because we needed to provide access not only to our salespeople, but to resellers who didn’t have access to our internal network,” says Fox. “The cloud just seemed like a logical choice.”
