About The Customer
Genpact is a global professional services firm that drives digital-led innovation and digitally enabled intelligent operations for its clients. It has expertise in end-to-end operations and its AI-based platform, Genpact Cora. The firm has over 87,000 employees and operates in more than 25 countries. Genpact connects every dot, reimagines every process, and reinvents companies’ ways of working. As a global provider of solutions that drive digital transformation for its customers, Genpact made a strategic decision a few years ago to streamline its IT infrastructure and fully embrace a multi-cloud strategy.
The Challenge
Genpact, a global professional services firm, made a strategic decision to streamline its IT infrastructure and fully embrace a multi-cloud strategy. This involved moving the entire application stack to the cloud, including Office 365, Salesforce, SAP Concur, ERP, and other software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms. The organization was also consolidating data centers, aiming to reduce the number to single digits. However, the transition was not without challenges. Certain products like Microsoft Active Directory were not cloud-ready, nor were some of Genpact’s partners. Additionally, the transformation demanded a cultural shift within the organization. Genpact’s internal teams were initially hesitant, citing potential loss of control and visibility. They were concerned about securing 75+ different locations across 25 countries, with anywhere from 500 to 5,000 users per office. Another significant issue was managing increased network complexity due to rapid growth and launching new locations.
The Solution
Genpact chose to partner with Zscaler for its cloud transformation journey. They initiated a POC with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and quickly recognized its benefits. ZIA reduced exposure in Genpact’s public clouds and cloud-based business applications. It enabled a fast and secure user experience through local breakouts, while eliminating expensive and complex security appliances in all locations and reducing the number of data centers. Genpact also added Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) as an alternative to its incumbent VPN for remote user access to Genpact private apps. ZPA is a software-defined perimeter (SDP) service that provides seamless and secure user connectivity to a specific application without placing the user on the network or exposing apps or VPCs to the internet. The Zscaler administrative console provides unprecedented visibility into all internet and web traffic, across all devices, users, and locations. The security team no longer has to consult multiple appliance consoles to get the information it needs to check on security posture.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
