关于客户
KMC Global Controls & Automation is a technology-based company that provides control panels, automation and integration with remote and onsite support capability. The company aims to provide the best equipment and service to its automation and controls customers. It now offers machine data-as-a-service using Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT. The company believes that machine data is vital to any manufacturing system and that manufacturers that don’t implement IIoT are likely not to compete in the changing landscape. KMC Global has the goal of making IIoT accessible to more manufacturers, especially important since COVID-19 has magnified the need for remote monitoring.
挑战
KMC Global Controls & Automation, a technology-based company that provides control panels, automation and integration with remote and onsite support capability, faced several challenges. They needed to compete not only on cost but also offer value-added services to stay relevant and strategic. They aimed to ensure smaller manufacturers are successful at IIoT, create diversified and resilient revenue, and meet the growing need for remote monitoring. The company understood that IIoT is an evolutionary change every manufacturer needs for survival. However, small and midsize manufacturers often lack the ability to implement and maintain IIoT applications due to a lack of in-house expertise.
解决方案
KMC Global built a communications device into its custom control panels. The optional device collects live machine data and enables anyone to access that data securely for meaningful analysis. The service runs on Software AG’s Cumulocity IoT platform. KMC Global takes an iterative approach to help customers see a faster and low-risk return on investment. They select a couple of vital data points and get that communication started. They move the data up to the cloud, and they work it to dashboards very quickly so the customer can see the benefit early. KMC Global then dives deeper into the manufacturer’s needs and adds data points accordingly. By taking small and quick steps, they are able to establish value early in the process. Because they handle the workload, the customer is not mired in trying to figure out how it all works.

Smart Water Filtration Systems
Before working with Ayla Networks, Ozner was already using cloud connectivity to identify and solve water-filtration system malfunctions as well as to monitor filter cartridges for replacements. But, in June 2015, Ozner executives talked with Ayla about how the company might further improve its water systems with IoT technology. They liked what they heard from Ayla, but the executives needed to be sure that Ayla’s Agile IoT Platform provided the security and reliability Ozner required.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
