关于客户
Kennards Hire is one of Australia's largest and most respected hire companies, with over 150 branches and 1,100 employees across Australia and New Zealand. Founded in 1948 by Walter Kennard, the company has grown from a small store in Bathurst, NSW, to a major player in the equipment hire industry. Kennards Hire is known for its commitment to providing reliable, assured, and safe equipment for its customers. The company maintains a 'ready for hire' process to ensure that all equipment meets manufacturer guidelines and safety standards before being rented out. This customer-centric approach has helped Kennards Hire build a strong reputation and a loyal customer base.
挑战
Kennards Hire faced the challenge of providing their customers with easy access to information about the equipment they hire. The existing manual log book system for recording maintenance and service history was cumbersome and not accessible to customers. This lack of transparency made it difficult for customers to verify the service history and safety records of the equipment they were hiring. The company needed a solution that would empower customers with real-time access to this information, ensuring that they could confidently use the equipment knowing it had been properly maintained.
解决方案
Kennards Hire collaborated with Honeywell Scanning & Mobility and Skywire to implement an automated technology solution across all its branches. The solution featured the Honeywell PF4i rugged industrial bar code printer, which played a crucial role in the 'ready for hire' process. Once the equipment passed all safety and maintenance checks, the system would automatically print a 'ready for hire' label. This label included a QR code that customers could scan with their mobile phones to access the service history, safety records, user guides, and training videos for the equipment. The information was made available through Kennards Hire's online plant portal, integrated with the ERP system, Baseplan Enterprise. This transformation from a manual to an automated system provided customers with a virtual window into the 'ready for hire' process, enhancing transparency and trust.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
